Playing tricks again,
Hermes?
Didn't you learn?
Like the Raven,
You stole things,
You did not earn.
Scintillating Gems,
They glisten in the Sun.
For that is what they do,
When the layers are deep,
And the quality true.
Honesty,
Virtue,
Character and Style.
They can teach you these things,
If you stay for a while.
There is a reason these jewels,
Shine so bright.
They were designed,
By the Divine,
To return the Light.
All facets of their being,
Bend and reflect,
The beauty from within,
So worthy of respect.
Cheating Apollo,
A decision, unwise.
The shame you now bear,
Outweighs your prize.
You cannot cut through
Not a scratch, nor a dent.
They resist the inferior,
And survive by their strength.
What made you think,
You would leave unscathed?
Limestone,
Without integrity,
In a Diamond-filled cave.
very nice poem
